Barbara Lynn Lancaster 85 of Gadsden passed away Thursday September 9th at her residence. Graveside services will be 2:30 PM Sunday September 12th at Cherokee Memory Gardens with Rev. David Jenkins officiating. Pallbearers include Brian Usry, Wade Usry, Ken Rouse, Stan Reynolds, John Money and Jack Morrison. Honorary pallbearers will be Don Smith, Ed Usry, Charles Watts Jr., Charles Watts employees. Survivors include husband, Lathan Lancaster; sister-in-law Carol Klimek; nieces, Freda Shannon, Connie (Wally) Conway; nephews, Tim (Cheryl) Shannon, Bobby Klimek, Stacy (Charlotte) Hardin and Shane (April) Hardin; several great nieces, nephews and cousins; special friends Charlotte Hughes and Ken and Robin Rouse. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kimberly Lynn Lancaster; sister-in-law, Barbara St.Clair Shannon; brother, Freeman Shannon. Mrs. Lancaster was a native of Ga. and the daughter of the late Walter and Maude Shannon. Barbara was employed by Charles Watts for 66 years. She was a former member of Altrusa Club of Gadsden and helped on many civic projects. She was a member of Slackland Baptist Church for 62 years and previously taught youth classes in Sunday school, served on the church finance committee for several years, also on the building committee for the parsonage, new sanctuary and enlarging the fellowship building. She was also member of WMU foe 62 years and assisted on numerous mission projects. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Slackland Baptist Church. Perry Funeral Home Directing
