In the last 11 days of August, approximately 190 grams of methamphetamine and 18 grams of heroin has been taken off the streets of DeKalb County. Credit goes to the DeKalb County Narcotics Agents, DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office, Crossville Police Department and the National Park Service.
On Friday, August 20th, Crossville Police Department, along with DeKalb County Deputies conducted a traffic stop in Crossville which led to the seizure of 160 grams of methamphetamine and 18 grams of heroin. This case is still under investigation with charges pending.
On Saturday, August 21st, National Park Service conducted a traffic stop on Federal Park Land, finding approximately 30 grams of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle. This case is still under investigation with charges pending. Narcotics Agents were called to assist.
On Monday, August 23rd, DeKalb County Narcotics Agents conducted a traffic stop on Wallace Avenue in Fort Payne. During the stop, methamphetamine and marijuana were found in the vehicle. Joe Lee Earl (34 of Saint Joseph, MO) was charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 2nd and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Deana M. Dudley (40 of Saint Joseph, MO) was charged with Unlawful Possession of marijuana 2nd, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance.

On Wednesday, August 25th, DeKalb County Narcotics Agents went to a residence on County Road 507 in the Blake Community after receiving several complaints of drug activity. Agents found methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia inside the house. Jacob Clinton Galloway (32 of Section), Joey Wayne McElyea (57 of Rainsville), Auburn Lashay Sargent (26 of Rainsville), Alexis Alyssan Godsby (22 of Rising Fawn, GA), Scott William Curtis (31 of Fyffe) were all charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

On Thursday, August 26th, DeKalb County Deputies were called to the same residence on County Road 507 in the Blake Community, as the day before, about someone trespassing on the property. Once arriving, Deputies found Casey Scott Payne (23 of Dutton) on scene. Payne was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia and methamphetamine. As Deputies were attempting to place Payne under arrest, he started resisting officers, but soon the situation was under control. Payne was charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Resisting Arrest. Narcotics Agents were called to assist.

On Monday, August 30th, DeKalb County Narcotics Agents conducted a traffic stop on 1st Street in Fort Payne. During the stop, agents found the driver to be in possession of synthetic marijuana. Andy Dion McSpadden (48 of Fort Payne) was charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
