Alabama Adds More Than 5,300 New Cases of COVID

Alabama added more than 5,300 COVID to its total, according to the latest figures from the Alabama Department of Public Health.

ADPH figures show the state has had 709,732 cases of COVID-19 since March 2020, an increase of 5,312 from the day before. The state also added 39 deaths to bring that total to 12,330. Deaths reports can take as long as two weeks to show on ADPH totals.

Of all the cases added to the total, 924 were reported from Jefferson County, followed by Mobile County (+367) and Madison (+342).

Alabama currently has 3,892 people hospitalized with COVID.
