Mr. William Terry Lunsford, age 73 of Centre, passed away Saturday, August 28th after a short but courageous battle with cancer.

Survivors include his best friend and former spouse, Patricia Lunsford; son, Landon (Amanda) Lunsford; one daughter, Loren (Lori) Lunsford; one brother, Tim (Glenda) Lunsford and two grandchildren, Emily and Katherine.

Lt Col Lunsford was a native of Columbus, GA, the son of the late William Damon and Ouida Lunsford. He served for over 28 years in the Air Force and Air Force Reserves in addition to many years in Civil Service at Fort McClellan and Redstone Arsenal. Lt Col Lunsford also provided great memories to many local youth as a founder, director, coach, and referee in local soccer leagues. He loved his family, his country, and his community deeply and will be sorely missed.

Due to the pandemic, there will be a private family graveside service with a celebration of his life being held at a later date. With no chapel services, donations in honor of Lt Col Lunsford can be made to Red Mountain Grace ministries in lieu of flowers.
