Chattooga County, Georgia Superintendent of Schools Releases COVID Case Numbers within the System

A northwest Georgia School Superintendent is taking action, regarding the COVID-19 count in his school system.

After news on Wednesday that Chattooga High School had reached the 5% threshold of positive COVID cases School Superintendent Jared Hosmer stated that he wanted to release the numbers to the public, saying “…to ease everyone’s mind, I felt that it was necessary to share the Positive COVID numbers by school location.  The numbers are from Saturday through Wednesday of this week.  At this point ONLY Chattooga High School has reached the 5% threshold.  We will continue to monitor daily and adjust accordingly.”

The number of students (35) that tested positive at Chattooga High School, prompted the decision to close the high school this Thursday and Friday for cleaning.

New COVID numbers will be released at 1:00pm on Friday (August 27th)
