Superintendent Mike Welsh Addresses COVID Concerns and Safety Measures within the Cherokee County School System

The current surge in COVID-19 cases is certainly cause for concern – especially in our schools.  Many people are curious about how educators are dealing with the dilemma

On Thursday, we sat down with Cherokee County Superintendent Mike Welsh, and he had this to say:

During our conversation, the superintendent addressed a number of topics including what would lead to a “Mask Mandate” and he spoke on the issue of “Virtual Learning”

When asked about the number of COVID-19 cases appearing in the school system, he advised that an accurate, up-to-date method of obtaining information will be coming soon:

Another big question mark is how sports events will be handled, and Superintendent Welsh had this to say:

The superintendent also shared with us that safeguards which were actually put into place months ago, continue to be enforced in an effort to keep  the students,  staff and everyone else, as safe as possible:
