Georgia Man Arrested after Causing Commotion over Microwave Dinner

Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to a call of domestic violence in progress in Trion on Monday morning.

That call came in from a woman at a Rose Circle address – while en route, the deputy was informed by 9-1-1 dispatchers that a man was “tearing up” the residence.

Upon arrival, law enforcement encountered 37 year old Rodney Marvin Hines, who at that point yelled at the deputy – telling him not to come in, because he (Hines) had a .45 caliber handgun.  The deputy drew his weapon and his taser, and then entered the home, where he was forced to taze Hines after he failed to comply with orders to lie on the floor.

He was taken into custody placed under arrest and taken to the Chattooga County Jail where he was charged with Disorderly Conduct, and with Obstruction of Officers –  in addition to felony Obstruction of Officers.

The woman at the residence told deputies that Hines had gotten angry after she fixed him a microwave dinner.  She stated she didn’t know why Hines had been acting that way – and that she feared for her own safety.
