Chattooga County Murder Suspect Sentenced To Life Without Parole

Three people were murdered in the Holland Community of Chattooga County in August of 2019. This week, Steven James Mauldin of Trion pleaded guilty to multiple counts of malice murder, felony murder, armed robbery and more felonies in Chattooga County Superior Court.

Last year, after the discovery of the bodies, Mauldin eluded local law enforcement and left Chattooga County shortly after the murders were committed. Mauldin traveled to Alabama with an ex-girlfriend and was subsequently captured in Coweta County, Georgia.

Mauldin shot and killed Linda Everett and Joe Edward Brown and also shot Daryl Lee Marsh who later succumbed to his injuries in a Chattanooga hospital.

Mauldin was sentenced to life without the possibility of parole.
