Wanola Sue “Katy” Whitten, age76 of Centre, passed away Wednesday, August 4th at her residence. Funeral services will be 4:PM Friday, August 6th at Perry Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Jeff Davis officiating; burial will follow in Cherokee Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 3:30 until 4:PM Friday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Jordan Shuler, Michael Hock, Seth Neyman, Wes Neyman, David Neyman, Don Cagle and Whitt Whitten. Survivors include her husband, Lowell Gene Whitten; son, Tim (Lisa) Whitten; daughter, Tammi (Brett) Ray; brothers, Jimmy (Mickey) Neyman, Danny (Dewanda) Neyman; sister-in-law, Charlene (Richard) Money; brother-in-law, Charles Cagle; grandchildren, Lauren (Michael) Hock, Megan (Jordan) Shuler, Brittney Ray, Breanna Ray; great grandchild, Allana Grace King; several nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Gail Cagle; brother-in-law, Ralph L. Whitten; brother-in-law Charles Cagle; sisters-in-law, Jan Whitten and Diane Jacobs. Ms. Whitten was a native of Cherokee County, the daughter of the late Emmett Edward and Mattie Estelle Reed Neyman, she was a 1963 graduate of Cherokee County High School, she was retired from Tyson Foods and she was a member of Centre First United Methodist Church.
