Monday certainly saw its share of serious accidents around the area with two wrecks taking place in Cherokee County – one of which resulted in a Piedmont woman being air-lifted for treatment following a two-vehicle crash just prior to 6:00pm.
In neighboring Etowah County, a Cherokee County woman, a resident of Centre – was hurt in a two-vehicle collision involving her 2015 Jeep, and a 2009 Acura, driven by a female resident of Collinsville, who was also injured. Three passengers in the Jeep as well, were treated for injuries; they were all listed on the report as being from Centre – bringing the total number of individuals hurt in that mishap, to five.
That wreck was on Main Street just outside the Gadsden City limits, at approximately 2:05pm.
Meanwhile in DeKalb County a crash occurring late Monday afternoon injured a total of six people, including the driver of a 2017 Nissan (a male resident of Ft Payne), and one passenger, along with the driver of a 2018 Toyota (a female resident of Ft Payne) and three passengers.
That accident took place on 176 at 5:50pm.
No additional information was available regarding the condition of any of those that were involved – and those wrecks remain under investigation by State Troopers.
