Cherokee County Ranks #59 in County-by-County COVID-19 Vaccination Percentage Rates

Since March of 2020, Alabama has recorded 550,451 cases of COVID-19 – with 11,338 deaths being attributed to the virus.  Despite those numbers, Alabama ranks next to last when it comes to vaccinations with just under 37% of the population vaccinated.

Alabama is only ahead of Mississippi, where the vaccination rate is just under 30%.  The vaccination rate in Alabama’s counties range from 47% in Lowndes County, to as low 19.7% in Russell County.

Cherokee County ranks #59 of Alabama’s 67 counties – with a rate of just 27.7%

We’ve posted the vaccination rate for every Alabama County as of Tuesday, June 29th according to Alabama Department of Public Health data.  That percentage indicates the number of people who’ve received at least ONE dose of either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine OR completed the single-dose J&J version.  Some national trackers may have different figures:
