Two people were killed in an accident involving an 18 wheeler and a small SUV, early Wednesday afternoon.
The collision took place at around 1:00pm on U.S. 78, just under a mile out of Oxford, claiming the lives of James and Bonnie Turner of Heflin, ages 70 and 61 respectively, when their 2013 Chevy Equinox struck a 1997 Kenworth tractor-trailer.
Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene.
That wreck remains under investigation by Alabama State Troopers.
