On Sunday, Spring Creek Fire Rescue and Floyd EMS responded to a reported jet-ski accident at a location near Spring Creek Bridge; the watercraft apparently struck a nearby pier.
Emergency personnel arrived to find a juvenile victim that was injured in the accident. Floyd EMS Medics notified Floyd Medical Center in Rome of the trauma alert and the child was transported by EMS for treatment of injuries.
The child’s father, who was also on the jet-ski, was taken to hospital by family members.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Marine Patrol Division is investigating the accident.
