Several accidents were reported in Cherokee County on Saturday.

There was a two vehicle accident on Alabama Highway 9 at County Road 63 (Blackwell’s Crossroads) just after 5:00 p.m. According to reports no one was injured in that mishap.

A two vehicle accident on Highway 411 at County Road 62 resulted in injuries. That wreck occurred just after 8:00 p.m.

There was a two vehicle accident with injuries that took place just after 8:15 on Gadsden Highway near Fairview Church.

Just after 9:30 there was a single vehicle accident in the 3000 block of County Road 71.

One person was arrested at the scene following a two vehicle accident on West Main Street in front of Regions Bank in Centre at around 10:30 p.m.

55 year old Melvin Lee Ely of a Cave Spring, Georgia address was taken into custody at the scene by Centre Police and booked into the Cherokee County Detention Centre on a charge of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol.
