Police Searching for Suspect in Connection with Truist Bank Robbery Friday Morning

According to 9-11 dispatch, On Friday morning at around 11:28 AM, the Truist Bank located at 2401 Shorter Ave was robbed.

A press release from the Rome Police Department stated that a black male entered the bank and pointed a Black Semi-Automatic Handgun at the employees demanding them to lay on their stomachs.

An undetermined amount of money was reportedly removed from the cashier area before he left the scene. No one was injured in the incident.

The suspect is described as a 30–40-year-old slender black male wearing a black long sleeve shirt, black pants, a hat, and sunglasses.

Rome Police set up a perimeter in the surrounding area, and also contacted nearby businesses to see if they could check surveillance cameras for evidence on the suspect.

According to Police the suspect was last observed on foot near the Bank.

*WRGA News further requested an interview with the bank about what occurred but was turned away from the scene with no comment.
