Morgan County Teen Found Safe; Suspect Now in Custody / UPDATED

Morgan County authorities located a man and a teenage girl Wednesday afternoon in connection with a suspected abduction and hostage situation.

According to an Amber Alert issued earlier that day, 16 year old Margaret Ann Prince was abducted by Adam Wilson, age 36 and the two were last seen on foot near Prince Circle in Morgan County.  Authorities later learned that the two had been seen in the area of Brindlee Mountain Baptist Church on U.S. Highway 231.

At around 5:00 that afternoon, when law enforcement officials – armed with tracking dogs – forced the suspect to come out of a heavily wooded area, it gave the young girl  the opportunity to escape.  Wilson was taken into custody without incident and could reportedly be facing charges of kidnapping and endangering a child.  He is accused of abducting the girl at gunpoint from her residence in the 200 block of Prince Circle, at around 12:00 noon.  Both the victim’s father and sister were apparently home at that time.   It’s believed the victim and suspect were acquaintances.
