A traffic stop at the intersection of Alabama and Church Streets in Cave Spring, ended with a Piedmont man being jailed on a variety of drug charges.
Jeremy Wayne Loyd, age 41, was pulled over for a simple tag light violation, and with the discovery that he was going to be arrested for driving on a suspended license, the suspect reportedly went ahead and admitted to being in possession of drugs.
According to the report, officers removed a black case from Loyd’s jacket pocket, and found more than a half-ounce of meth, two baggies of marijuana, a digital scale, and a glass smoking device containing what appeared to be meth residue.
Loyd was then taken into custody and arrested on the charges of unlawful possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, possession of drug-related objects, a tag light violation, and driving on a suspended license.
