Donald Edward Abernathy, age 78 of Cedar Bluff, passed away Friday,
May 21st at his residence.

Funeral services will be 2:PM Tuesday, May 25th at Perry Funeral Home
Chapel with Rev. Scott Hosey and Rev. Alvis Wells officiating; burial
will follow in Union Methodist Cemetery. The family will receive
friends from 12 until 2:PM Tuesday, at the funeral home.
Pallbearers include David Deberry, Marcus Rodriquez, Kevin Prater,
Waylon Bishop, Cole Sims, Joshua Abernathy. Honorary Pallbearers will
be Bobby Studdard and Billy Jean Hunter.

Survivors include daughters, Rachel (Sean) Jimerson and Donna
Abernathy (Kevin Prater); son, Joshua Abernathy; brothers, Ronald
(Brenda) Abernathy, Waldo Abernathy and Timmy (Kim) Abernathy; sister,
Patsy Abernathy Sims; grandchildren, Brittany Horn, Payton Boland,
Megan Strawbridge, Joshua Abernathy, Jr.; great grandchildren, Oliver
Sisneros, Malichi McDaniel, Harminee Sisneros, Colton McDaniel;
several nieces & nephews.
Mr. Abernathy was a native of Cherokee County, the son of the late
Nobia Lucille Abernathy
