Georgia Man Charged With Shooting Into an Unoccupied Vehicle In Piedmont

According to Piedmont Police Chief Freddie Norton, on Sunday (May 16) Officers with Piedmont Police Department were notified of a possible shooting into a residence in the 200 Block of Haslam St.

Officers were given a vehicle description and were able to make a traffic stop a short distance from the residence on the vehicle.

Officers and investigators went to the shooting location interviewed witnesses and collected evidence and were able to place Matthew Corey Maddox of Dallas, Georgia under arrest.

Maddox was charged with Shooting into an Unoccupied Vehicle and Certain Persons Forbidden to Possess a Firearm.

Maddox total bond was $15,000 and he has a preliminary court date of June 14, 2021 at 1:30PM.
