Chamber of Commerce Ribbon Cutting Ceremony Held for Cherokee Eye Clinic

The Chamber of Commerce on Thursday held their official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the Cherokee Eye Clinic in Centre – now under the ownership of Dr. J.R. McKissick and his wife Dr. April McKissick.

Dr. McKissick is a 2007 graduate of Gaylesville High School and a graduate of Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biomedical Sciences; he graduated in 2015 from the UAB Medical Center School of Optometry and that same year he joined Dr. Myron Wilson at the Cherokee Eye Clinic full-time.

In February of this year (2021), Dr. Wilson, following 38 years of dedicated service to Cherokee County and the surrounding areas, retired from active patient care, leaving Cherokee Eye Clinic in the capable, caring hands of Dr. McKissick – stating, in an open letter to his patients, friends and the public at large regarding Dr. McKissick “He will continue to provide quality eye care with the same personalized care I’ve provided.  I have complete confidence in him.” – and that relationship goes back decades to when the new owner, was just five years old:

Cherokee Eye Clinic is located at 280 West Main Street – phone (256) 927-4030 – you can also visit their Facebook Page to find out more about their full line of services.
