MOBILE – Brindlee Mountain’s Ellie Cothran shot an even par 72 after rounds of 35 and 37 to win the Class 1A-3A girls golf state championship May 10-11 at Magnolia Grove in Mobile. She finished three strokes better than second-place finisher Lauren Thompson of Providence Christian.
Cothran is the daughter of Chris and Melissa Cothran. Chris Cothran is a graduate of Cherokee County High School.
