Members of the Leesburg Fire Department quickly responded to a report of a tree being down across the roadway on Alabama Highway 273 during the early morning hours of Monday. That was south of Yellow Creek Falls just prior to 4:00am.
Motorists should exercise extreme caution following the heavy rains that saturated the ground across Cherokee County over the previous 24 to 36 hours, leading to that and other reports of downed trees and limbs.
