Sand Rock goes 3-0 in Sand Mountain Park Softball Tournament

ALBERTVILLE – The Sand Rock Lady Wildcats went 3-0 Friday at the Sand Mountain Park Softball Tournament in Albertville. They defeated Rogers 5-3, Falkville 9-1 and Huntsville 10-3 to improve to 28-14-1 for the season.

In the win over Rogers, Katelyn St. Clair went 2-for-2 with a home run, a walk and three RBIs. Maggie Hester was 2-for-3 with a run. Jadyn Foster homered and EllaGrace Hood had a hit.

Hood earned the win in the circle. She tossed 3 1/3 innings and gave up three earned runs on six hits with two walks and two strikeouts.

Foster tossed 1 2/3 innings of no-hit ball with two strikeouts.

Against Falkville, Foster and Maggie Tinsley both were 2-for-4 with a home run apiece. Foster scored three runs and had two RBIs. Tinsley also doubled, scored twice and drove in four runs.

Hood went 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, three runs and a RBI. Hester also had two hits, including a double, and a RBI. Lily Clanton and St. Clair also contributed a hit apiece. Clanton also scored a run.

Foster earned the win after working five innings. She gave up an earned run on four hits with a walk and a strikeout. Hood tossed a hitless inning with a strikeout.

In the win over Huntsville, Foster went 3-for-3 with a home run, a triple, two runs and two RBIs. Hester was 2-for-2 with a triple, a walk and two runs. Rylin St. Clair was also 2-for-2 with a walk and two runs. Sherina Foster had a pair of hits and scored a run.

Katelyn St. Clair doubled, scored a run and had three RBIs. Tinsley tallied a hit, a walk, a run and a RBI. Hood finished with a hit.

Hood also earned the win after working three innings. She gave up three earned runs on five hits with a walk and two strikeouts.

Foster tossed a hitless inning with a pair of strikeouts.
