A Northwest Georgia man was recently arrested in DeKalb County (Alabama) after an anonymous tip came in about a possible drug deal.
Narcotics agents with the Sheriff’s Office received information saying the suspect was headed from Northwest Georgia to Northeast Alabama, possibly to the Ft Payne area to sell methamphetamine. Deputies intercepted Chance Dewayne Reed, age 43, from Lindale, Georgia, when he arrived in Ft Payne. A search was then conducted – and, as a result – approximately 8.5 grams of methamphetamine was confiscated.
Reed was charged with Attempting to Commit a Controlled Substance Crime and with Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
