JACKSONVILLE – The Cherokee County Warriors rallied from a four-run deficit in the top of the sixth inning to tie the game, then scored four more in the top of the seventh to take an 11-8 Class 4A, Area 9 baseball win at Jacksonville on Tuesday.
Isaiah Wood led the Warriors (14-12, 5-1) at the plate by going 2-for-3 with a walk and a run. Cooper Rodgers was 1-for-3 with a run and four RBIs. Connor Wilson collected a hit and two RBIs. Walker Pruett went 1-for-2 with a run and a RBI. Malachi Horton had a hit and two runs. Cody Adderhold added a hit, a walk and a run. Jackson Aultman contributed a hit.
Haden Wheeler walked twice. Dalton Adderhold, Brian Green and Tristan Whitefield each scored a run.
Wilson earned the complete-game win on the mound. He gave up seven earned runs on 11 hits with four walks and a strikeout.
The two teams finish their series on Thursday in Centre beginning at 4:30 p.m.
