Collinsville holds off late Cedar Bluff rally

COLLINSVILLE – The Cedar Bluff Lady Tigers rallied for five runs in the top of the seventh inning at Collinsville, but fell a run short of tying the game in a 16-15 softball loss on Tuesday.

Caroline Brannon and Somer Stewart were Collinsville’s top hitters. Brannon went 4-for-5 with a home run, a double, three runs and four RBIs. Stewart was 3-for-4 with a homer and four RBIs.

Emma Terrell doubled, walked and scored a pair of runs. Sophia Wills finished with a hit, a walk and scored three runs.

Stewart picked up the win after working 6 2/3 innings with seven strikeouts.

Harlie Nelson led Cedar Bluff at the plate by going 4-for-5 with two runs and three RBIs. Haley Allen went 3-for-4 with a double, a walk and four RBIs. Mattie Payne posted a pair of hits, including a triple, with a walk and three runs. Jordyn Walker collected a hit, walk, a run and two RBIs. Reece Patterson posted a hit, a walk and three runs. Mary Sausville contributed a hit, a walk, two runs and a RBI. Emma Haney had a hit, a walk and two runs.

Maggie Clowdis scored twice and drove in a pair of runs. Caitlin Slayton finished with a walk.
