SAND ROCK – Jacob Cornejo blasted a three-run homer in the bottom of the seventh inning, lifting the Sand Rock Wildcats to a 7-4 baseball win over Ider on Monday.

Cornejo went 3-for-4, scored twice and drove in four runs for the Wildcats (12-8). Ethan Clanton collected a pair of hits and a RBI. Logan Wood added a hit and scored two runs. Slade St. Clair contributed a hit, a run and a RBI. Austin Yoder had a hit and a RBI. Cade Ballenger and Olin Pruitt also had a hit apiece. Ballenger also scored a run. Brian Giles finished with a walk and a run.

Wood picked up the win in relief of Pruitt. Wood tossed two innings and gave up three earned runs and a walk with four strikeouts. Pruitt went five innings and gave up an earned run on eight hits with a walk and six strikeouts.

Sand Rock travels to Cedar Bluff on Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
