Sand Rock picks up a pair of softball wins at Choccolocco Park

OXFORD – The Sand Rock Lady Wildcats went 2-0 at the Choccolocco Park softball tournament on Friday. They defeated Sylacauga 8-1 and held off Leeds 4-3.

Against Sylacauga, Maggie Hester went 3-for-3 with three runs. Lindsey Chambers was 2-for-2 with a walk and four RBIs. Katelyn St. Clair also contributed two hits, including a double, with three RBIs. Maggie Tinisley also tallied two hits with a run. Rylin St. Clair and Sammi Parker posted a hit and a run apiece. Parker also drove in a run. Lily Clanton finished with a hit.

Jadyn Foster picked up the win in the circle. She tossed four innings of two-hit ball with a walk and three strikeouts.

In the win over Leeds, Tinsley collected two hits, including a double, with a run and a RBI. Katelyn St. Clair tripled, walked, scored a run and drove in a run. Parker had a hit, a walk and a RBI. Hester and Clanton both contributed a hit.

Foster again picked up the win. She allowed no earned runs on four hits with no walks and six strikeouts.

The Lady Wildcats play Oxford at 10:15 this morning.
