An alert motorist called 911 on Thursday evening after noticing that the chicken truck they were following was apparently on fire.
Cedar Bluff Firefighters were able to intercept the truck when the driver finally pulled over in the parking lot of the Red Bird Pantry.
It appears no one was injured. The cause of the fire is not known at this time.
Representatives from Koch Foods responded to take possession of the trailer and were able to gather up the birds that had fallen from the trailer during the fire.
Alabama State Troopers and Cedar Bluff Police also responded.
