An 18 wheeler accident blocked a portion of Highway 278 in southern Cherokee County for several hours on Thursday.
According to reports, the accident occurred at the County Road 126 intersection where the truck overturned. At least one person was reported to have been injured in the accident.
The Spring Garden Fire Department, Piedmont Rescue and Alabama State Troopers responded.
The roadway was closed from approximately 11:40 a.m. until just after 3:00 p.m.
