Rogers, Katko: Administration Resorts to Desperate Measures as Biden Border Crisis Worsens

House Armed Services Committee Ranking Member Mike Rogers (R-Ala.) and House Committee on Homeland Security Ranking Member John Katko (R-N.Y.) released the following statement after the Department of Defense  approved [3] Fort Bliss and Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland to be used to house unaccompanied migrant children in response to the ongoing border crisis:

“There is no way around it—President Biden has created a full-blown humanitarian crisis at the southwest border. We are seeing thousands of unaccompanied children crossing our border daily, with no signs of slowing down. As much as the Administration wants to portray the situation at the border as a ‘challenge,’ the mere fact they are resorting to using a military base to house unaccompanied migrant children goes to show that it is a crisis and they have lost complete control. Reversing the misguided policy decisions that created this surge is the most humane course of action.”
