CENTRE – The Cherokee County softball and baseball tournaments will be played this afternoon, school officials announced Friday morning.

All games will be played at the Cherokee County High School softball and baseball fields.

The softball tournament opens with Gaylesville taking on the host Lady Warriors at 3 p.m., followed by Sand Rock and Cedar Bluff at 5 p.m. The winner of the Gaylesville-Cherokee County contest will take on Spring Garden at 7 p.m.

The championship game is now scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.

Friday’s scheduled baseball tournament games include Cedar Bluff against Gaylesville at 4:30 p.m. The winner will then take on Spring Garden at 6:30 p.m.

Saturday’s baseball games feature Sand Rock against tournament host Cherokee County at noon, followed by the championship game at 2 p.m.
