CENTRE – The Cherokee County softball and baseball tournaments are scheduled to begin on Thursday. Both tournaments are being played at Cherokee County High School.

The double-elimination softball tournament opens Thursday with Gaylesville taking on Cherokee County at 4 p.m., followed by Sand Rock and Cedar Bluff at 5:30 p.m. Spring Garden awaits the winner of Gaylesville-Cherokee County at 7 p.m.

Play continues on Friday with games scheduled for 4, 5:30 and 7 p.m. Saturday’s games are scheduled for 10 a.m., 11:30 a.m., and 1 p.m. (if necessary).

Thursday’s baseball schedule is junior high games only between Sand Rock and Cedar Bluff (4:30 p.m.) and Cherokee County and Gaylesville (6:30 p.m.).

The varsity tournament opens Friday with Cedar Bluff taking on Gaylesville at 4:30 p.m., followed by Spring Garden junior high against the winner of Thursday’s Sand Rock-Cedar Bluff game at 6:30 p.m.

Saturday’s action is scheduled to include Sand Rock against Cherokee County varsity at 11 a.m., Friday’s Cedar Bluff-Gaylesville winner taking on Spring Garden at 1:30 p.m., the junior high championship at 4 p.m., and the varsity championship at 6:30 p.m.

Games are subject to change due to rain in the forecast on Thursday.
