Mr. John D. Sanford, age 85 of Cedar Bluff, passed away Friday, March 19th at his residence.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday, March 26th at Perry Funeral Home Chapel with Kenneth Crane and Christa Bates officiating; burial will follow in Unity cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12 until 2:00 PM Friday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers include Terry White, Charlie Elders, Donnie Bradley, Joel Helms, Patrick Canada, Justin Sanford.

Honorary Pallbearers include Calvin Sanford, Jamie Sanford, and Dale Richardson.

Survivors include a son, John Randall (Stacie) Sanford; daughters, Donna Rutledge, Karen (Jerry) Canada; sister, Myrtle Lea; grandchildren, Timothy Hunter, Bradley Reynolds, Brian Sanford, Alexis Smith; great grandchildren, Skyler, Adree, Jax, Abel, Maxwell.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Dean Sanford; brothers, Bill, Henry and Rob Sanford; sisters, Sue Crane, Gert Barnes, and grandson, Walter Reynolds.

Mr. Sanford was a native of Cherokee County, the son of the late Tony and Odessa Lee Sanford and was of the Holiness faith.
