UPDATE:
Missing Juveniles Lily Chamlee and Holden Schroeder were located unharmed and safe. Both are back in Alabama as of March 20, 2021, 7:00 pm.
The DCSO would like to thank the U.S. Marshall’s Service, the Fort Payne Police Department, Leeds Police Department, Albertville Police Department, Atlanta Police Department, Pell City Police Department, and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance in locating them.
We would also like to thank the media and members of the public who took the time to share this story.
Due to the age of both subjects, we will not be able to release any additional information on this case.
DeKalb County Sheriff Nick Welden said: “Anytime anything occurs involving a child, it’s all hands-on-deck at our office. From a crime against a child, or in this case, a missing child! It’s hard from the public’s standpoint to know just what all goes into a case like this.”
“I can’t stress enough how many hours are worked to do everything possible to find and secure the safety of children like in this case and every other. My hat is off to the DCSO Investigative Unit for their diligence and truly never giving up. The number of calls made by them to other agencies all across this country requesting assistance and help is astounding, but this is how hard they work every day!” Said Sheriff Welden.
“The entire DCSO family fights this hard every day and it’s something to be proud of as a Sheriff. Our family is always here to fight for your family!” He added.
“I also want to express my gratitude to all the agencies that helped with this case. The U.S. Marshall’s and law enforcement agencies across Alabama and Georgia stepped up to help. Most importantly, I want to thank God above for his perfect will.” said Sheriff Welden.

A reward of $ 1,000.00 has been offered for any information leading to the safe return of Lily Madison Chamlee, age 16 and Holden Quinn Schroeder, age 15 both from DeKalb County.
They are believed to be in the Marshall County area or the Birmingham area. If you have seen either of these or know the whereabouts, please call the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office at 256-845-3801.
