A Rome, Georgia woman is accused of stealing money from the Sexual Assault Center while she was the executive director of the organization.  According to those arrest warrants, 43-year old Kimberly Lynn Davis unlawfully appropriated over $22,000 in 2018.

She reportedly took funds from the center’s banking account, including the center’s PayPal and credit card accounts, then used the funds for her own personal gain.  Davis is charged with theft by taking, theft by conversion, theft by deception and financial transaction card fraud following her arrest Wednesday.

Meanwhile, 25-year old Barbara Nicole Rayburn received and uttered a check in the amount of $2,600 for work as a contract employee of the center when, in fact, she was never employed as such.

Rayburn is charged with theft by deception.

Tannika King, president of the SAC Board of Directors issued a statement concerning Davis’ arrest.  It read:

“Kim Davis was terminated as executive director of the Sexual Assault Center of NWGA in July 2019 after our Board of Directors became aware of some questionable financial transactions. We immediately turned that information over to law enforcement and the GBI has been pursuing the investigation. We are glad to see progress in this matter and look forward to a resolution. Because this is an ongoing investigation, all questions should be directed to the GBI.”
