Chattooga County 9-1-1 received reports of a vehicle off the bridge on the Lyerly Dam Road late Tuesday.  When law enforcement and emergency personnel arrived at that location, they discovered that the driver had already fled the scene of the accident. 

First responders determined that there were no other occupants in the car – and, the vehicle was then retrieved from the Chattooga River.
