Update On Severe Weather Threat, WEIS Listening Area Placed Under A Moderate Risk

Periods of showers and storms can be expected through the day today, with strong to isolated severe storms expected.  Localized flooding can’t be ruled out with storms tracking over similar areas.

A significant threat of severe storms is expected during the day on Wednesday through early Thursday Morning.  All interests need to be prepared for a long-duration event starting during the early afternoon hours Wednesday and lasting as late as sunrise Thursday morning across the far eastern and southeastern counties.

Moderate Risk of severe storms now exists across a vast majority of Central Alabama for Wednesday through early Thursday morning.

Wednesday: Early Afternoon through as late as sunrise Thursday morning.  Two waves of severe storms appear likely – the first during the afternoon with discrete cells, then a line of severe storms will move across the area during the evening and overnight hours.
