Sand Rock softball blanks Gaston

GADSDEN – Sand Rock’s Sammi Parker and Rylin St. Clair combined for a softball shutout in the circle at Gaston on Thursday. They both had plenty of run support in the Lady Wildcats’ 18-0 victory in five innings.

Parker picked up the win after tossing two innings. She gave up two hits, a walk and had four strikeouts. St. Clair pitched the other three innings. She didn’t surrender a hit and allowed only a walk with five strikeouts.

Katelyn St. Clair led the Lady Wildcats (4-6) at the plate by going 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, three runs and two RBIs. Briley Knight went 2-for-2 with a run and two RBIs. Sherina Foster tripled, walked, scored twice and drove in a pair of runs. Ella Grace Hood had a double and two runs. Maggie Tinsley tallied a hit, three runs and two RBIs. Lindsey Chambers came away with a hit, a run and three RBIs. Jadyn Foster contributed a hit, two runs and a RBI. Maggie Hester had a hit, a walk, a run and a RBI. Lacey Barnette collected a hit, a run and a RBI. Parker posted a hit and a RBI. Rylin St. Clair finished with a walk and a run.

Sand Rock is scheduled to host Piedmont on Monday at 4:30 p.m.
