Cedar Bluff outlasts Collinsville in Tuesday softball action

CEDAR BLUFF – Mattie Payne went 3-for-4 with a home run, a walk, three runs and two RBIs in leading the Cedar Bluff Lady Tigers to a 14-10 softball win over visiting Collinsville on Tuesday.

Jordyn Walker also had three hits, including a triple, for the Lady Tigers (2-7). Walker scored three runs and had three RBIs. She also picked up the win in the circle, giving up six earned runs on nine hits with six walks and six strikeouts.

Reece Patterson posted a pair of hits, a walk, a run and two RBIs. Mary Sausville contributed a hit and two RBIs. Caitlin Slayton had a hit and scored a pair of runs. Emma Haney finished with a walk and scored a run.

Caroline Brannon led Collinsville at the plate by going 4-for-5 with a home run and a triple. She scored three runs and had a RBI. Emma Terrell tallied two hits, including a double, with a run and two RBIs. Somer Stewart and Sophia Wills both had a hit and drove in two runs apiece. Stewart also scored a run. Olivia Akins added a hit and walked twice. Destiney Jones walked and scored a run.

Wills suffered the loss for the Lady Panthers.
