Warriors win in eight innings at Ohatchee

OHATCHEE – The Cherokee County Warriors scored two runs in the top of the eighth inning and held on for a 6-4 baseball victory at Ohatchee on Thursday.

Cooper Rodgers and Walker Pruett led the Warrior offense. Both went 2-for-4 at the plate. Rodgers had a double and scored a run. Pruett scored a run and drove in another.

Connor Wilson went 1-for-3 with a run. Tristan Whitefield added a hit and a RBI. Haden Wheeler had a hit, and Malachi Horton finished with a walk and run.

Brian Green picked up the win on the mound for the Warriors (3-6). He tossed 3 2/3 innings, giving up a run on five hits with two walks and four strikeouts. Daegan Scott went 4 1/3 innings, giving up three runs on four hits with three walks and seven strikeouts.

The Warriors host Coosa Christian on Saturday at 11 a.m.
