East Alabama Sports Today

PIEDMONT – The Piedmont Bulldogs have been such a regular team in the Northeast Regionals, perhaps the bracketologists should just give them a permanent line the bracket.

The Bulldogs earned their seventh straight trip to the Class 3A Northeast Regionals Wednesday night with a 56-45 victory over Childersburg.

The Bulldogs (17-7) will play either Geraldine or Fyffe in Friday’s Sweet 16.

Alex Odam and Omarion Foster scored all 17 of Piedmont’s points in the second quarter as the Bulldogs went on a 17-4 run to open a 30-15 halftime lead.

Foster scored all eight of his points in the quarter. He also grabbed 17 rebounds in the game and had three assists.

Odam, Piedmont’s all-time boys leading scorer, led the Bulldogs with 29 points. He shot 11-of-23 from the floor and dealt three assists.

Jakari Foster grabbed nine rebounds and had four steals.
