Pisgah’s 3-pointers, free throws help sink Sand Rock girls, 72-41

PISGAH – The second-ranked Pisgah Lady Eagles connected on 11 3-pointers and sank 17-of-19 free-throw attempts to down Sand Rock 72-41 in Class 2A girls basketball subregional action on Monday afternoon.

Kallie Tinker led Pisgah (21-6) with 19 points, including five 3-pointers. Molly Heard had 17 points. Bella Bobo rang for 11 points, including a pair of treys. Kennedy Brown finished with eight points.

Pisgah led 12-7 at the end of the first quarter and finished the first half on a 12-0 run to take a 34-15 halftime advantage. The Lady Eagles opened the third quarter on a 13-2 run to help extend their lead to 53-29 heading into the fourth quarter.

Lanie Henderson topped Sand Rock (16-13) with 15 points, including three treys. She also had six rebounds, three assists, a steal and a block. Haley Grace Lisenbee added 10 points, a pair of rebounds and a block. Katelyn St. Clair finished with eight points, three boards and a steal.
