Extended Family For Kids Director Laure Clemons Joins Jerry Baker To Talk About The Program

Earlier in the week, WEIS Radio Morning Show Host Jerry Baker welcomed into the studios Laure Clemons, Director of the Extended Family for Kids Program.

Since 2003, Extended Family has been teaching families of prisoners how to successfully adjust to a new way of life. We offer a free, solution-based approach to the prison experience. Answers are at your fingertips. The type of support you want, when you want it.

Clemons explained that often times kids having a family member incarcerated may affect them in a number of different ways; from the hassle of having to change homes or schools which can often time have affect their mental and emotional state of mind.

As it has everything, the COVID Pandemic has affected the Extended Family Program – but that hasn’t stopped them from meeting the needs of the kids involved in the program.

Students in grades K through 12 can enroll in Extended Family for Kids. Students are put into age-appropriate small groups, which meet for 45 minutes each week.
