Garden girls take over top spot in final ASWA basketball rankings

The Spring Garden Lady Panthers (26-2) leaped over Pisgah (17-6) to take over the top spot in the Class 2A girls basketball rankings. The final poll of the season was released late Wednesday evening.

Spring Garden wasn’t the only area basketball team to see movement this week. Class 3A Collinsville (23-4) also saw its stock improve, moving up three places to No. 4.

Class 4A Cherokee County (19-5) held on to its No. 10 spot, while Class 2A Sand Rock (14-11) continued to receive a nomination.

Speaking of Sand Rock, the Wildcat boys (19-5) moved up a spot to No. 4. Class 3A Piedmont (14-6) also inched up two notches to No. 5. Class 2A Spring Garden (17-8) fell a spot to No. 9.
