Centre Firefighters Quickly Respond to Oil Spill on the Chesnut Bypass Tuesday Morning

Around 10:30 Tuesday morning the Centre Fire Department responded to reports of a road hazard at the intersection of West Main Street and the Chesnut Bypass in Centre.

Units arrived to find what appeared to be an oil spill in one lane – stretching a long distance from the intersection all the way back past the Huddle House.  The firefighters immediately blocked off the lane and began applying a drying agent to the affected area, remaining along the stretch of road until it was deemed safe for traffic.
