Two Facing Drug Trafficking Charges Following Leesburg Traffic Stop

Two Cherokee County residents were arrested on Controlled Substance charges following a traffic stop in Leesburg shortly before midnight.

Leesburg Investigator Jamie Chatman and Officer Hunter Brisendine pulled the vehicle over near the intersection of Weiss Lake Boulevard and Park Street. 

As the result of a search performed on the vehicle by k-9 Officer Draco, both occupants were placed under arrest

Dean Aubrey Strickland, age 28 of Leesburg, and Kayla Bree’ann Moses, 28 of Centre – were charged with Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substances (two counts), and Trafficking Amphetamines.

Strickland was booked into jail around 12:30 Friday morning – Moses shortly after 1:30.

Both remain in the Cherokee County Detention Center with bond for each set at $80,000.
