Two people were arrested, following a high-speed chase involving a stolen vehicle, in Floyd County, Georgia over the weekend.

According to jail reports – 20-year old Jasmine Marie Gonzales of Lindale, hit speeds of over 100 miles an hour as she fled from a traffic stop on MLK Drive at Washington Street. She ran stop signs at Perkins Street, Calhoun Avenue, Reservation Street and Burnett Street.  Gonzales then ran the red light at Calhoun Road and the connector before turning onto East Hermitage Road; she then crashed the vehicle into a house.  Police say the license tag on the vehicle had been changed and the vehicle had been spray-painted a different color.

Gonzales was charged with theft by receiving stolen property, 2nd degree criminal damage to property, fleeing or attempting to elude, concealing identity of a vehicle, reckless driving, two counts of running a stop sign, speeding, running a red light, failure to maintain a lane, improper lane change, the possession of methamphetamine, the possession of a controlled substance, the possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, the possession of drugs not in their original container, and possession of drug-related objects.

A passenger in the vehicle – who was identified as 27-year old Joseph Williams Wells Tapp of Rome, was also arrested and charged with theft by receiving stolen property, 2nd degree criminal damage to property, possession of methamphetamine, the possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, and possession of drug-related objects.
