Alabama added 2,881 new COVID-19 cases going from Wednesday into Thursday.

The Alabama Department of Public Health data released Thursday morning, showed a total of 432,536 COVID-19 cases since last March (2020) and a total of 6,379 deaths – up 96 from the day before.  Some of those deaths date back several months and were added after reviews.

Hospitalizations continue to drop – the ADPH reports 2,552 people were hospitalized with COVID-19 as of Thursday, down from 2,734 the previous day.

Here in Cherokee County, according to the ADPH, we’ve now seen a total of 1,625 cases of COVID-19 – 1,074 confirmed, 551 listed as probable.  Countywide we’ve had a total of 30 deaths – with 25 confirmed as being COVID-related, and 5 listed as probable.
