Alabama Adds Over 1,400 New Cases of COVID-19 from Sunday into Monday

Alabama added just over 1,400 new cases of COVID-19 going from Sunday into Monday.

The Alabama Department of Public Health data released early Monday morning, showed an increase of 1,430 cases – bringing the state’s total since last March to 424,028.  The ADPH also added one death, to bring that total to 6,121.

At 2,716 hospitalizations have continued a slow decline, with the state hitting its pandemic-long high of 3,077 at the beginning of January.

Here in Cherokee County, according to the ADPH, we’ve now seen a total of 1,605 cases of COVID-19 since March 13th of last year – 1,061 confirmed, 544 listed as probable.  Countywide we’ve had a total of 30 deaths – with 25 confirmed as being COVID-related, and 5 listed as probable.
